Upward Mobility Booster

Objectives and Target Group

To enhance the employability of youths aged between 15 and 29 (Secondary 4 or above students or those in the early stages of their career) through workplace skills training and internships

Project Format

Enterprises partner with NGOs to implement in-depth and comprehensive projects of durations ranging from 6 to 9 months. Through group trainings, career counselling seminars, corporate visits and other career focused activities, youths are encouraged to gain a better understanding of themselves and plan for their future. Enterprises will provide youths with practical and soft skills training for the workplace, mentorships, internships or paid full-time apprenticeship experience to enhance their employability. Projects will be funded by participating enterprises, and employees are encouraged to serve as volunteers to help implement the projects.

To date, 23 projects under Upward Mobility Booster have been rolled out benefitting over 1 300 youths, including youths who have yet to develop their career aspirations, youths not in education, training or employment, youths with special educational needs, youths with disabilities and youths of ethnic minorities.
